Port setting etc. to connect to ArenaNet
I'm trying to run Guild Wars from behind switches and routers in a network. I don't administer this network and the admins know nothing about GW.
Can anyone tell me what I need to ask the admins to do to allow GW to run?
Currently when I try it just sits on the first splash screen saying Connecting to ArenaNet 0%. I assume this means it can't connect to ArenaNet.
I've already asked the admins to forward port 6112 for me but that did not solve the problem.
Edit:
In the interests of completeness, here is the answer I have received from ArenaNet support.
Quote:
Opening TCP port 6112 should resolve the issue. However ask them if they filter any information on TCP port 80. Port 80 is normally for web traffic, however Guild Wars will attempt to use this port if 6112 is restricted in anyway.

I haven't had time to try this out, but it's a good lead.
